Buildings Energy Data Book
Produced by DOE, The Buildings Energy Data Book provides comprehensive buildings-related data and promotes the use of this data for consistency throughout Department of Energy programs.
The Buildings Energy Data Book is published under contract with the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) of DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) first published the predecessor to the annual Buildings Energy Data Book in 1986. PNNL published the data book through September 2004, when NETL began support of the project.
The Buildings Energy Data Book is a compilation of data and does not provide original data. Tables are organized into seven chapters:
- Energy consumption data
- Characteristics data
- Environmental data
- Economic data
- Market data
- Quad equivalents
- Buildings profiles
Much of the data gathered is from government documents, models, and analyses. All data sources are included with each data table.
