The Office of Budget provides guidance to all of EERE's programs on preparing multiyear program plans. The Office assists the programs in ensuring that their plans support the Department of Energy (DOE) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) performance metrics, as well as the President's Management Agenda. The Office also assists with developing and refining EERE corporate goals, leads corporate strategic planning, and coordinates EERE participation in departmental planning.

Planning Guidance
The Office of Budget assists with planning by providing guidance such as the EERE Program Management Guide and EERE Guidance for Multiyear Program Planning.
Planning Resources
The Office of Budget, EERE, and DOE provide a number of resources for program planning, including the EERE Program Management Initiative (PMI) Brochure, EERE and DOE Strategic Plans, the EERE Strategic Program Review, and a range of evaluation guides and resource documents developed for EERE staff.
Planning Requirements
The Office of Budget oversees the numerous federal legislative, department, and administration policies and procedures that require the need for multiyear program plannning (MYPP). These include Congressional Appropriations, National Energy Policy, the President's Management Agenda, and others.
