Information and Business Management

The Office of Information and Business Management leads the development and implementation of information and business management systems that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of EERE's management of programs and its portfolios of projects. This includes:

  • On behalf of EERE, collaborating with the DOE Chief Information Officer and other DOE organizations on the development and implementation of e-Government and program management systems (I-Manage, e-Grants, etc), with the focus being on a single management system for all research, development, demonstration, and deployment programs

  • Developing and maintaining information technology systems, hardware, software, and associated policies that support the mission requirements of EERE in a cost-effective manner

  • Ensuring cyber security for all EERE information systems

  • In partnership with the Golden Field Office, providing EERE with an integrated approach to safety management and a proactive approach for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act

  • Providing a systematic approach for the evaluation of work performed for EERE by the national laboratories

  • Providing a systematic approach, based on long-term EERE program plans, for evaluating the requirements for new and/or renovated national laboratory facilities

  • Conducting analyses and management reviews of EERE programs and management approaches, and formulating findings, recommendations, and action plans to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of EERE's management of programs and their portfolios of projects

  • Coordinating the development of program management and project management training under the Program Management Initiative
