Biomass 2010 Conference
March 30–31, 2010
Hyatt Regency Crystal City
2799 Jefferson Davis Highway
Arlington, VA 22202
Thank you to everyone who made Biomass 2010 a success, including the speakers, moderators, sponsors, and exhibitors!
More than 600 attendees were able to discuss some of the most pressing issues in the biomass community as well as recent accomplishments and the challenges that lie ahead. We were able to focus on the role of biomass in our nation's energy portfolio and address important issues like technology innovation, biopower, rural development, and commercialization and feature a technical program that took a closer look at foundational science and applied R&D, feedstocks, hyrdrocarbon fuels, and sustainability.
Advancing biomass technologies will require a firm commitment across our nation. Through conferences such as this one, leaders from government, non-profit organizations, and the private sector can work together to build the foundation for a robust domestic biomass industry.
Biomass 2010 featured keynote speakers, including Dr. Steven Koonin, Under Secretary for Science, U.S. Department of Energy; Cathy Zoi, Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, U.S. Department of Energy; and Dallas Tonsager, Under Secretary Rural Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture.
