The Symposia on Biotechnology for Fuels and Chemicals are the premier conferences on the use of biotechnology to improve the technology and economics of fuels and chemicals production. The 27th Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels and Chemicals continued this highly successful series and provided a great opportunity for experts from around the world to gather and discuss the latest research breakthroughs and results. Researchers from academia, government, and industry met to discuss numerous approaches for improving the economics of bio-based fuels and chemicals production. A variety of formal technical sessions, poster sessions, and informal discussion groups afforded stimulating venues for the exchange of new information. There were many valuable opportunities for productive interactions with colleagues from both a national and an international perspective.
The 27th Symposium was held May 1-4, 2005, at the Marriott City Center Hotel in downtown Denver, Colorado.
