Communications and Outreach
OBP conducts a range of activities to facilitate the development and deployment of cost-effective, sustainable biofuels. The Program communicates these efforts through informational materials, participation in trade show exhibitions and conference panels, and partnerships with federal, state, and non-profit organizations. Following is a description of these three activities.
Informational Materials
OBP has developed informational materials to communicate the Program's mission, strategy, activities, R&D focus, and details of funded projects. These materials, such as brochures, fact sheets, and case studies, also provide general information on types of biofuels technologies and their benefits. OBP materials are available in electronic format through this website by clicking on the "Information Resources" tab. Hard copy materials can be ordered from the EERE Information Center by calling 1-877-EERE-INF (1-877-337-3463) or visiting the EERE Information Center.
Trade Show Exhibits and Speaking Engagements
OBP participates in 15-20 trade shows each year. The shows are hosted by industry, Federal Government, States, and associations, and are focused on biofuels, biopower, and bioproducts. OBP attends many of the domestic trade shows listed on our Events page, often exhibiting and speaking about program activities and the benefits of biomass.
Partnership Development
OBP works with other Agencies, State governments, and industry organizations to promote biofuels opportunities and benefits. The Program is participating in the cross-agency Transformational Energy Action Management Initiative, which aims to achieve Federal energy efficiency mandates, including reduced petroleum use in Federal fleets. The Program also partners with DOE's Clean Cities initiative to disseminate current, accurate information on biofuels to consumers. In conjunction with Clean Cities, OBP meets regularly with State energy office representatives to discuss a range of biofuels topics.
