Meetings
The Bioenergy Technologies Office staff regularly participate in industry meetings and events. Additionally, the Office participates in the bienniel Peer Review process, an evaluation mandated by EERE. The Peer Review process entails a formal, documented evaluation from independent reviewers using objective criteria. The corresponding meetings are used to produce a formal report that assists the Office in improving its productivity, project management, and overall effectiveness in a variety of project areas.

Renewable Low-Cost Carbon Fiber for Lightweight Vehicles
The Department of Energy's Bioenergy Technologies Office, in coordination with the Advanced Manufacturing and Vehicle Technologies Offices, is hosting a workshop on the use of renewable, low-cost carbon fiber for lightweight vehicles on June 4–5, 2013. The workshop will highlight joint efforts to support end-to-end technology development for an enhanced domestic supply chain for low-cost carbon fiber.

Natural Gas-Biomass to Liquids Workshop
The Department of Energy's Bioenergy Technologies Office, in coordination with the Office of Fossil Energy and the National Energy Technology Laboratory, is planning to host a workshop on September 3, 2013, on Natural Gas-Biomass to Liquids (GBTL) research needs and technology options.
