The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will hold an informal framework public meeting as a first step in the standards rulemaking process for metal halide lamp fixtures. This meeting is the starting point in the standards development process. It will familiarize interested parties with the approach and analytical tools that DOE anticipates using, and provide an opportunity for feedback. In addition, DOE will request information that DOE should consider in its analysis of metal halide lamp fixtures.

Requests to Speak

Interested parties are welcome to give a prepared statement at the public meeting. DOE must receive a request to speak by e-mail, postal mail, and/or hand delivery or courier before 4 p.m. EST on January 12, 2010. Please submit a signed original and an electronic copy of the statement to be given no later than January 19, 2010.

How to Submit Comments

Interested parties may submit comments electronically, by mail, or by hand delivery or courier. All comments must identify the Metal Halide Lamp Fixtures Rulemaking, the Docket Number EERE-2009-BT-STD-0018, and Regulatory Information Number (RIN) 1904-AC00. The deadline for submitting comments is 30 days after publication in the Federal Register.

Wherever possible, comments in the electronic format should carry the electronic signature of the author. Absent an electronic signature, comments submitted electronically must be followed and authenticated by submitting the signed original paper document.
