Commercial Refrigeration Equipment Energy Conservation Standard Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR)

Following the Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR), the Department of Energy (DOE) is publishing a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) for the energy conservation standards for commercial refrigeration equipment. The NOPR is the first stage of the overall standards rulemaking process and will be followed by a Final Rule. At the NOPR stage, DOE presents the proposed standard levels and all the rulemaking analyses, including the engineering analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, national impact analysis, environmental impact analysis, utility impact analysis, and the regulatory impact analysis. Interested parties are invited to review the NOPR documents and the analytical tools, attend the public meetings, and submit comments on the analysis and proposed standard levels.

How to Submit Comments

You may submit comments electronically, by mail, or by courier. Wherever possible, comments in the electronic format should carry the electronic signature of the author. Absent an electronic signature, comments submitted electronically must be followed and authenticated by submitting the signed original paper document.

All comments submitted must identify the Commercial Refrigeration Equipment Rulemaking, the Docket Number, and Regulatory Identifier Number (RIN).
