The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is holding an informal public meeting to discuss and receive comments on the notice of proposed rulemaking for residential furnaces and boilers. This public meeting will also provide DOE with an opportunity to respond to questions from interested parties.

How to Submit Comments
DOE welcomes comments from interested parties during the designated comment periods for this rulemaking. DOE will accept comments, data, and information regarding the notice of proposed rulemaking before and after the public meeting, but no later than 60 days after the publication of the document in the Federal Register (this date will be provided once the official version of the NOPR is published in the Federal Register).
Interested parties may submit comments through the Federal rulemaking portal, electronically, by mail, or by courier. Whenever possible, comments in the electronic format should carry the electronic signature of the author. Absent an electronic signature, comments submitted electronically must be authenticated by submitting the signed original paper document.
All comments submitted must identify the Residential Furnace and Boiler Test Procedure (Standby and Off Mode) Rulemaking, the docket number, and regulatory information number (RIN).
