Energy Conservation Program for Consumer Products: Energy Conservation Standards for Water Heaters

AGENCY: Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Department of Energy.

ACTION: Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Public Workshop

SUMMARY: The Energy Policy and Conservation Act, as amended, prescribed energy conservation standards for certain major household appliances, and required the Department of Energy (DOE) to administer an energy conservation program for these products. In this notice we are proposed to amend the energy conservation standards for water heaters to make them more efficient and announce a public hearing.
