Here you will find information on the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) activities for test procedures for residential clothes washers, including materials and information for the public meeting, and instructions for how to submit comments.

On September 21, 2010, DOE published a notice of proposed rulemaking (NOPR), in which it proposed a new test procedure for residential clothes washers to provide for measurement of standby mode and off mode power use, and to address issues with the current active mode test procedure.
