Step 10: Capture Lessons Learned
Once you complete your program evaluation, you should consider developing a "lessons-learned" case study. Case studies provide a valuable service to other communities and showcase the exemplary work of your staff, partners, and other key stakeholders. DOE regularly assists communities that are developing case studies and disseminates lessons learned to others. Sharing your experiences helps improve other programs and contributes to the development of a self-sustaining private financing marketplace for efficiency upgrades.
Case study components might include:
- Highlights of the local jobs created by the program
- Before and after comparisons of neighborhood revitalization projects
- Customer testimonials.
Evaluation reports that describe the day-to-day experience of program administrators also include valuable information that would benefit other program administrators who are considering similar finance programs.
