Step 9: Revise Programs and Strategies
Once you have conducted a program evaluation, the next step is to consider whether you should revise your program's design and implementation strategy based on any concerns or issues discovered during the evaluation.
The evaluation, for example, can uncover program delivery challenges and unforeseen barriers that dissuade consumers from participating in energy efficiency upgrade programs. Program delivery challenges stem from a variety of causes, ranging from perceived loan processing hassles to stringent underwriting criteria. Evaluations provide opportunities to improve program delivery and address market barriers to efficiency. You should undertake any necessary revisions to program designs and implementation strategies on a regular basis. Timely evaluation of process-related activities is also highly recommended, as early inventions result in quick mid-course corrections so the program can achieve its goals.
