Pioneering Builder Partners Join Builders Challenge
Thirty-eight pioneering builders have joined the Builder's Challenge in time for the launch at the International Builder's Show. Twenty-two of these pioneers walked on-stage to demonstrate support of the Builder's Challenge and receive a certificate of recognition from Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman. Visit this page to view photos of our pioneering builders at the launch event. These builders have shown their commitment to improving the performance of houses in our nation by committing to build homes to the Builders Challenge levels of performance. With these innovative builders on board with the initiative, the Builders Challenge expects to have at least 6,000 homes built to the standard in the first year. By "taking the challenge," the 38 pioneering builders alone will save Americans an estimated $5 million and 8,098 metric tons of carbon or the equivalent of taking 5,438 cars off the road for one year.
