Commercial Buildings Databases

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has developed a database that provides detailed case studies of energy-efficient commercial buildings. DOE also offers a life-cycle inventory database. Here you will learn more about these databases.

High Performance Buildings Database

The case studies in this database provide detailed information about high-performance commercial buildings around the world. Entries cover topics such as land use, water considerations, energy use, indoor environment, and more. The High Performance Buildings Database features a variety of commercial buildings including: office, retail, restaurant, school, health care, hotel, and communities.

This is a shared resource for the building industry. Developed by DOE and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, projects entered in this database can be featured on partner Web sites. This collaboration increases the reach of the information and saves building designers and owners from providing the same information to multiple sources.
