2010 National Conference on Energy Smart Schools
May 6-7, 2010

Ready, Set, Save…Actions for Healthy High Performance Schools
Energy-efficient, high performance schools are healthy learning environments that combine good lighting, comfort, acoustics, and air quality. These schools also provide a platform for curricula about science and the environment. And they can save a school district thousands of dollars in operating costs annually – funds that can be redirected to education resources.
Join DOE at the 2010 National Conference on Energy Smart Schools to collaborate with national, regional, and local partners to promote healthy, high performance schools moving toward net-zero energy.
The conference will include:
- Demonstrations of cutting-edge, innovative renewable energy technologies and energy-efficient building systems.
- Interactive sessions and panels focusing on applying resources and best practices for common school energy challenges.
- A platform for discussing best practices with industry experts in financing, operating, and maintaining high performance K-12 schools. This conference supports DOE efforts to improve the energy performance of today's school facilities.
