Webcast: Developing Energy Efficiency Programs for K-12 Schools
On Tuesday, October 13, 2009, EPA's Local Climate and Energy Program will host a webcast entitled "Developing Energy Efficiency Programs for K-12 Schools." The webcast will provide an overview of EPA's ENERGY STAR program for K-12 Schools and DOE's EnergySmart Schools program. In addition, local practitioners will showcase how they developed, implemented, and measured results from energy efficiency programs in their school districts. The webcast will conclude with a question and answer session.

The webcast will be held from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. (Eastern). Priority for registration will be given to school districts and local and regional government staff and officials. If multiple staff from your agency wishes to participate, please share one computer and phone line. EPA will record and post the webcast on its local climate and energy program website for interested parties who are not able to participate during the live training. AEDG Web-based Training: Implementing Recommendations from the Advanced Energy Design Guide for K-12 School Buildings
This no-cost, online webinar - presented live on April 16, 2009 - provides an overview of the Advanced Energy Design Guide (AEDG) for K-12 School Buildings, including recommendations based on climate zones to achieve 30% energy savings over baseline standard in both new and renovation building projects.

Webinar Series: Energy Efficiency Strategies for Schools

High Performance School Design Online Training for Architects and Engineers
High Performance School Design Online Training is offered free of charge as a public benefit for design and engineering professionals specializing in sustainable design for K-12 schools. A sample of topics included in the online training are site design, daylighting and windows, lighting and electrical systems, renewable energy, water conservation, M&O of Building Envelopes, M&O of HVAC and Mechnical Equipment and M&O of Electrical Systems and Lighting. Each course has been approved for one (1) Learning Unit in the area of Health, Safety, Welfare under the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System (AIA/CES). This training tool was developed by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), in partnership with other organizations at the forefront of high performance school design, and funded by DOE.
