The Hospital Energy Alliance (HEA) brings together leading hospitals and national associations in a strategic alliance designed to promote evidence-based information on successful strategies for integrating advanced technologies or processes that will reduce the energy consumption and operating costs of healthcare facilities. HEA also serves as a compelling voice on the collective demand for highly efficient products and services.
To support hospitals in addressing challenging trends in healthcare and energy, the Department of Energy (DOE) has created a comprehensive initiative, EnergySmart Hospitals. Through this initiative and HEA, DOE is providing the resources, tools, and strategies that our nation's hospitals need to identify clear pathways to cost and energy savings through efficient and renewable energy technology applications for both new and existing facilities.
HEA is one of several Commercial Building Energy Alliances created within specific business sectors to improve the energy performance of commercial buildings. Commercial Building Energy Alliances are a part of the Building Technologies Program's Commercial Building Initiative which aims to achieve market-ready, net-zero energy commercial buildings in all climates by 2025.
Here you will find information about HEA, including its goals, subcommittees, meetings, and resources.
