National Solar Tour Comes to 45 States and D.C. on October 7th
October 4, 2006
Solar homes and buildings in nearly every U.S. state, plus the District of Columbia, are opening their doors to visitors on or about October 7th. Hosted by the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) with sponsorship from DOE, the National Solar Tour is a chance to discover how solar energy, daylighting, wind power, and green building technologies are being put to work in your area. Most tours involve a small fee, but many are free. Since some tours are held before or after October 7th, be sure to check the dates on the ASES Web site. And for anyone with a solar home in Alaska, the Dakotas, West Virginia, or Wyoming, now would be a great time to step up and offer your home for a tour! The National Solar Tour gets closer each year to being offered in every state, and this year it's just five states short. See the state-by-state listing of all the tours on the ASES Web site.
