EERE and FEMA Resources for Victims of Midwest Floods

June 24, 2008

In response to natural disasters in recent years, including flooding in the Midwest and Hurricane Katrina, DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and the Federal Energy Management Agency (FEMA) have compiled resources to assist victims with recovery and rebuilding.

Consumer information on EERE's Disaster Recovery and Building Reconstruction Web site includes disaster preparedness, what to do after a disaster, and flood and mold cleanup. The site provides both consumers and home builders with strategies for rebuilding energy-efficient, cost-effective, and durable homes. See the Consumer and Residential Builders sections of the Disaster Recovery and Building Reconstruction Web site.

FEMA's Midwest Flood Response page provides resources for flood victims and for those involved in recovery, including information on what to do after a flood, flood insurance, recovery and rebuilding, preparing for future floods, and best practices learned from past floods. See FEMA's Midwest Flood Response page.
