Recording Available for Webcast on Residential Requirements of the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code
July 1, 2009
On June 17, 2009, the Building Energy Codes Program held a webcast on the recently published model energy code, the 2009 IECC. The webcast had approximately 1,840 attendees and included 60 minutes of instruction and software demonstration and 30 minutes of Q&A, with instructors answering participants' questions live. A video of this broadcast, which includes audio and PowerPoint slides, can be viewed online. There is considerable interest in the 2009 IECC because Governors are required to provide assurances to DOE, per Section 410 of the Recovery Act, that the state will adopt and implement codes to meet or exceed the 2009 IECC. Attendees were predominately architects, engineers, builders, and code officials.
