Better Buildings Neighborhood Partner Launches a New Home Energy Efficiency Audit Pilot
November 28, 2012
ABC 22 News reports on the Better Buildings Neighborhood Program's partnership with the state of Massachusetts's Mass Save program, now piloting a new program called Home MPG. The Home MPG program is designed to rate the efficiency of your home and provide you with a simple number.
Massachusetts is not a stranger to energy upgrade programs. The state's Mass Save program, an initiative sponsored by investor-owned gas and electric utilities and municipal aggregators, has been around for more than a decade. To spur even more energy efficiency upgrades in communities across the state, The Department of Energy Resources (DOER) is using $2.6 million in seed funding from the U.S. Department of Energy's Better Buildings Neighborhood Program to provide homeowners in Springfield and six surrounding communities in the lower Pioneer Valley with easily understandable, centralized information about efficiency opportunities in their homes.
