Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Refrigeration, and Controls Supplier Summit
On January 29, 2009, owners, operators, and suppliers from the commercial building industry gathered in Chicago to discuss energy efficiency equipment and technology needs in the areas of HVAC, refrigeration, and controls. The supplier summit was hosted by current Steering Committee members of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Commercial Building Energy Alliances (CBEAs). This page provides background on the summit and access to the summit's presentations.
Supplier summits allow commercial building owners and operators to communicate their energy efficiency needs directly to suppliers of building equipment. In turn, suppliers are challenged to find ways to meet those needs. This summit, hosted by the Retailer, Hospital, and Commercial Real Estate Energy Alliances, focused on HVAC, refrigeration, and controls—areas with potential for significant energy savings for all three alliances. Discussions and presentations focused on retrofitting existing buildings.
This was the second supplier summit held by DOE's building alliances. The Retailer Energy Alliance hosted a supplier summit in June 2008.
