Lighting and Controls 2009 Supplier Summit
On May 4, 2009, owners, operators, and suppliers from the commercial building industry gathered in New York City to discuss energy-efficiency equipment and technology needs in the areas of lighting and controls. The Supplier Summit was hosted by current Steering Committee members of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Commercial Building Energy Alliances (CBEAs). This page provides background on the summit and access to summit presentations.
Supplier summits allow commercial building owners and operators to communicate their energy-efficiency needs directly to suppliers of building equipment. In turn, suppliers are challenged to find ways to meet those needs. This Summit, hosted by the Retailer, Commercial Real Estate, and Hospital Energy Alliances, focused on lighting and controls—an area with potential for significant energy savings for all three alliance sectors. Discussions and presentations focused on retrofitting existing buildings.
This was the third Supplier Summit held by DOE's commercial building alliances. The alliances previously held The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Refrigeration, and Controls 2009 Supplier Summit and the Retailer Energy Alliance 2008 Supplier Summit.
