LBNL Study: Building Commissioning is Cost-Effective Way to Cut Energy Costs, Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) has released a report titled “Building Commissioning: A Golden Opportunity for Reducing Energy Costs and Greenhouse Gas Emissions,” which studied data on 643 buildings representing a total of 99 million square feet of floor space, and provides the largest database of case studies on commissioning new and existing buildings. DOE Seeks Applications to Establish the High-Performance Green Building Supporting Consortium
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will award a contract to a partnership of commercial building professionals and industry stakeholders to serve as the High-Performance Green Building Supporting Consortium in support of DOE’s commercialization of high-performance building technologies. DOE Releases Commercial Lighting Solutions Web Tool for Commercial Buildings
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has introduced Commercial Lighting Solutions, designed to improve energy efficiency in commercial buildings. The interactive Web tool will help commercial building owners improve lighting efficiency by at least 30% over ASHRAE 90.1-2004. DOE Launches the Hospital Energy Alliance
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the launch of the Hospital Energy Alliance (HEA) at an Executive Roundtable on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. A partnership between DOE and national healthcare sector leaders, HEA promotes the integration of advanced energy efficiency and renewable technologies in hospital design, construction, retrofit, operations, and maintenance.
