On August 2–3, the City of Boston and the DOE Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium hosted an LED street lighting workshop. DOE Workshop: Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium, Los Angeles, CA
On April 19–20, the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting and the DOE Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium hosted an LED street lighting workshop. Attendees gathered to discuss topics such as standards, cost benefit analysis, LA's street lighting conversion program, and LED lighting installations in San Jose and on California highways.

DOE Workshop: Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium, Dallas, TX
On March 15–16, the Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium and utility partner ONCOR hosted an LED street lighting workshop in Dallas. Attendees gathered to discuss topics such as designing and specifying applications, standards, ONCOR's street lighting pilot program, and case studies from two Texas municipalities.

DOE Workshop: Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium, Southwest Region
On August 25–26, the City of San Jose hosted DOE's Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Southwest Region Workshop. Nearly 90 attendees gathered to discuss topics such as cost benefit analysis, California's street lighting tariff pilot program, a NEEA study on networked outdoor lighting controls, and the City of San Jose's LED street light program.

On July 15, DOE, the City of Seattle, and Seattle City Light hosted the first Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Northwest Region Workshop. Nearly 100 attendees gathered to discuss topics such as LED luminaire specifications, light loss factors, adaptive lighting controls, and the City of Seattle's street lighting program.

On June 16–17, DOE, the City of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia Energy Co., and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission hosted the second Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting North Central Region Workshop in Philadelphia. More than 40 attendees gathered to discuss topics such as LED system reliability, intelligent lighting for exterior spaces, understanding LM-79 and LM-80, calculating light loss factors, and the City of Ann Arbor's street lighting program.

Nearly 60 attendees gathered to discuss topics such as LED luminaire specifications, calculating light loss factors, lighting controls, and a Kansas City GATEWAY Demonstration project.

On February 17–18, DOE, the City of Tampa, and TECO hosted the first Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Southeast Region Workshop in Tampa, Florida. More than 60 attendees gathered to discuss topics such as LED luminaire specifications, calculating lighting factors, understanding LM-79, LM-80, and TM-21, transient voltage and surge protection for SSL, and sea turtle nesting light sensitivity.
