Solid-State Lighting
CALiPER Program
Solid-state lighting (SSL) technologies today are changing and improving rapidly, and products arriving on the market exhibit a wide range of performance. There is a need for reliable, unbiased product performance information to foster the developing market for high-performance SSL products.
The DOE Commercially Available LED Product Evaluation and Reporting (CALiPER) program supports testing of a wide array of SSL products available for general illumination. DOE allows its test results to be distributed in the public interest for noncommercial, educational purposes only. Detailed test reports are provided to users who provide their name, affiliation, and confirmation of agreement to abide by DOE's NO COMMERCIAL USE POLICY.

About the CALiPER Program
Analysis of CALiPER test results and feedback from lighting manufacturers, efficiency programs, and utilities guide DOE planning for the CALiPER program. Learn more about the CALiPER program, including details about the CALiPER guidance committee and the CALiPER Roundtable report.
For more information on the CALiPER product selection process, test procedures used, qualified testing laboratories, and other issues related to CALiPER testing, see Frequently Asked Questions.
Summary Reports
DOE publishes Summary Reports following completion of each round of CALiPER testing. The Summary Reports provide detailed analysis of the test results for all products included in each round of testing. Download CALiPER Summary Reports.
Detailed Test Reports
Detailed test reports are distributed in the public interest for noncommercial, educational purposes only. Over 200 products have been tested through the CALiPER program to date. Download detailed test reports.
Benchmark Reports
DOE publishes Benchmark Reports to help users better compare LED products with conventional lighting technologies. Download CALiPER Benchmark Reports.
