DOE Issues a Request for Information: Manufacturing Stationary Fuel Cell Power Systems

April 15, 2010

The Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking feedback from the research community and relevant stakeholders to assist in developing a planned Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for new fuel cell manufacturing research activities. The research aim is to reduce fuel cell costs and improve the quality and reliability of high-temperature (~160°-180°C) combined heat and power fuel cells for stationary applications. Fuel cell types include, but are not limited to, solide oxide fuel cells (SOFC), polybenzimidazole (PBI) fuel cells, phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFC), and molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFC).

DOE may decide at a later date to issue FOAs based on consideration of the input received from this Request for Information (RFI). This RFI closes on May 13, 2010. The full announcement with information about providing comments is available on FedConnnect under the "Search Public Opportunities" link.  Search by reference number for DE-FOA-0000340.
