National Clean Fleets Partner: Staples

Photo of a Staples delivery truck. Lettering on the truck says, 0 percent exhaust, 100 percent happy. Meet our all-electric delivery truck.

Staples is practicing sustainable delivery by electronically limiting the top speed of its U.S. delivery trucks to 60 miles per hour and using idle-reduction technologies. The company has 53 electric drive delivery trucks and is exploring other alternative fuel vehicle options. Through these strategies, Staples has improved its fuel economy by 15% since 2006 while reducing operational costs. The company is also a partner in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay Transport program, making a significant percentage of their freight shipments through partner carriers who focus on improving fuel efficiency.
