Clean Cities is funded and managed by DOE headquarters in Washington, D.C. The program's director and co-director oversee the Project Management Centers at NETL and program activities at NREL, while headquarters support members manage Clean Cities projects.

NREL

NREL provides technical support and assistance by publishing informative documents and creating online educational tools. It also developed and manages the Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicles Data Center (AFDC).
