Shannon Brescher Shea is the Clean Cities communications manager in the Vehicle Technologies Office at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). She supervises the creation of printed and online materials, organizes outreach events, reviews project proposals, and develops new media tools. She works closely with the rest of the Clean Cities team to establish and communicate key messages.

Shea began her DOE career in July 2008 as a Presidential Management Fellow. As part of that program, she completed a detail at the Division of Earth Life and Sciences at the National Academy of Sciences, where she focused on climate change and energy communications.

Before coming to the DOE, Shea wrote for The Conservationist, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's official magazine. She also has professional experience in science education and environmental community organizing. She has a BS from Cornell University in Communications and Natural Resources and a MS from Oxford University in Nature, Society, and Environmental Policy.
