Clean Cities Coordinator Council

The Clean Cities Coordinator Council is a working group composed of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) representatives, Clean Cities coordinators, and program staff from the National Energy Technology Laboratory and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

Council Mission

The Coordinator Council ensures coalitions are fiscally and functionally sustainable. The council works toward this mission by developing strategies and setting priorities to chart a course that benefits coalitions and Clean Cities as a whole.

The council also facilitates communication among Clean Cities coalitions, Department of Energy headquarters, government agencies, associations, and industry. Two coordinators from each region and up to six additional at-large coordinators serve on the council to advocate for their areas. They use regional conference calls to identify issues to address and report the outcomes back to their stakeholders.

Working Teams

The council has three working teams.

  • Accountability and Strategic Planning Team: The Accountability and Strategic Planning Team advances the mission of the U.S. DOE Clean Cities program by enabling coalitions to be accountable and meet the high standards of the program and by providing long-term strategic direction to coalitions.
  • Information Resources and Training Team: The Information Resources and Training Team will identify coordinator information, resource, and training needs; address these needs through team initiatives or suggestions to DOE; and provide feedback on tools and documents as needed.
  • Branding and Communications Team: The Branding and Communications Team mission is to assemble, distribute, and disseminate information that assists Clean Cities coalitions in their efforts to promote the Clean Cities mission. The goal is to ensure that all Clean Cities coalitions have a common foundation of information and communications, which advance the mission and promotion of the program.
