Clean Cities Project Funding
To fund projects, start with financial opportunities listed on the Clean Cities website. Funding is also available from many other sources. Keep a running list of projects to pursue so you're ready to act when funding opportunities arise.
- Federal Funding: The Center for Economic and Environmental Partnership, Inc., publishes the "Monthly Summary of Open Solicitations," a comprehensive list of federal funding opportunities related to renewable energy. Subscribe to this monthly newsletter.
- State Energy Office: Contact your state energy office to learn about state funding opportunities. The National Association of State Energy Officials offers a list of state energy offices.
- Metropolitan Planning Office: Get to know your local metropolitan planning office and learn about its priorities. Ask about partnering and funding opportunities.
- CMAQ Funding: Contact the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) program to find out if your area is eligible for CMAQ funding, and ask how that funding is distributed.
- EPA Regional Funding: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Clean School Bus USA program provides regional funding for school buses. Contact your regional EPA office for funding solicitations.
