Opportunities

The EERE Commercialization team provides opportunities for individuals and industry to get involved with DOE and its partner laboratories. These opportunities foster the expansion of DOE's mission to benefit the public through increased national energy security, improved environmental stewardship and enhanced economic prosperity. The opportunities below promote DOE's mission through communication between government and industry, involvement of business minds, and development and deployment of lab technologies.

Technology Commercialization Showcase

Summer Associate Program

Graduate students have the opportunity to apply to work with the Commercialization team during the summer at DOE headquarters in Washington, DC through the Summer Associate Program. For more information, contact the Commercialization Team.

Financial Opportunities

The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) works with business, industry, universities, and others to increase the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. One way EERE encourages the growth of these technologies is by offering financial assistance opportunities for their development and demonstration. R&D 100 Awards

R&D 100 Awards have been presented to numerous national laboratories for an array of different projects. These awards highlight technologies that need an additional push from private industry toward the marketplace. According to the R&D 100 Web site, "winning an R&D 100 Award provides a mark of excellence known to industry, government, and academia as proof that the product is one of the most innovative ideas of the year."
