Colors and Fonts

Here you'll find the required colors and fonts for use on EERE-branded print materials. These colors and fonts are part of EERE's official branding, and must be used on all official EERE print materials.

Colors

The EERE color palette is designed to meet a broad range of communication needs. The flexibility of this palette allows for customization of communications products while maintaining a consistent EERE brand.

In addition to the foundation color, use one of the primary colors and one or more of the highlight colors. There are two foundation colors available—green and blue. Use the primary color you feel is most appropriate for your product. These colors are reflected in the templates.

The foundation color—grey—is required on all four-color materials. Use highlight colors as accents and make sure that the gray and primary color are the dominant colors.

Color Usage

The CMYK values are used in four-color process printing. If the piece includes spot colors, use the Pantone values. The equivalent RGB values are provided for electronic file formats such as MS Word and PowerPoint, and the Hex values are to be used for on Web sites.

Please note that the HEX values are not direct equivalents of the Pantone, CMYK, or RGB colors but have been adapted for the Web—please use the HEX values listed or sample from the colors above.

Fonts

Using consistent type is another part of maintaining a strong visual brand. EERE selected one serif and one sans serif font for its design system.

Primary Typefaces

Gotham should be used for headlines, subheads, captions, call-outs, and sidebar copy. EERE selected Gotham because it looks fresh yet established, is friendly and assertive, and is modern and straightforward.

Text should be set in all caps or upper and lower case with a flush left alignment. If desired, Gotham can also be used in body copy.

Times New Roman should be used for body text throughout all print communications. Text should be set in upper and lower case with a flush left alignment. Avoid the use of all caps.
