QA Checklist for OpenText Sites

This is the Quality Assurance (QA) Checklist for all sites that are hosted in the OpenText Content Management system. See the QA Checklists for other types of EERE Web sites on the QA Checklist page.

All Websites

  • Headers are used appropriately (h1, h2, h3, h4)

  • Content has been spellchecked

  • Internal links are coded relatively or use CMS internal links More Information

  • Images and client-side image maps have descriptive alt text More Information

  • File names for native files and images are lower case and do not include spaces or special characters, except for underscores or hyphens More Information

  • File names clearly describe the file's content More Information

  • Native files, images, and media are kept in separate directories

  • Animations, audio files, and videos follow the requirements in the Multimedia QA checklist More Information

  • Color is not used to denote content More Information

  • Colored content has sufficient contrast to meet Section 508 requirements More Information

  • HTML pages validate against the W3C's validator More Information

  • Data tables are Section 508 compliant More Information

  • Forms are Section 508 compliant More Information

  • Scripting is Section 508 compliant More Information

  • PDFs are optimized and are Section 508 compliant More Information

  • Title tag is formatted according to EERE's guidelines More Information

  • The page content is understandable with the style sheets turned off

  • Linked H2s are followed by arrows More Information
