Multimedia QA Checklist

The following checklist will help you ensure your multimedia applications have met all EERE standards before your site goes live. For more information, see the EERE standards for multimedia applications.

All

		All animation, sound, video, and other multimedia files are stored and referenced from a separate subdirectory such as a "media" directory.
		Equivalent alternatives are provided for all multimedia.
		Pages requiring an applet or plug-in must provide a link to an accessible page where they can be downloaded.
		If a plug-in is required, the application has been tested on a machine without the plug-in loaded to ensure it prompts the user to download the plugin and then works correctly once loaded.
		All links within the application work properly.
		Sound is working correctly.
		All audio tracks have a text equivalent.
		An audio description of all video tracks that is synchronized with any video or time-based multimedia presentation is provided or a full-text script with a description of all important visual cues as well as dialogue.
		The screen does not flicker with a frequency of greater than 2 Hz and lower than 55 hz

Quicktime VR

		All Quicktime VR's are checked to make sure they scroll correctly
		All Quicktime hotspots are checked to make sure they work and go to the correct location

Flash

		Application has been created using Flash 6 or later
		If the application is exited before it is finished, it goes to an appropriate page.
		When a user requests a page with Flash embedded, the page must first detect if the user has Flash. If they do not, they should be prompted to download the plug-in.
		All Flash is embedded in an HTML page with a link to an accessible version.
