Standard Browser Set for Quality Control Testing

These browsers are selected because they are the most commonly used according to EERE browser statistics and outside sources.

PCs:

  • MS Internet Explorer: 6.0
  • MS Internet Explorer 7.0
  • Firefox 2.0

Macs:

  • Safari 2.0

Users' Platforms and Tools

Develop sites for the following configurations

Minimal system and software - Windows OS:

  • Monitor - set to 1024 x 768 pixels resolution
  • Modem - 28.8 KBPS - Pages should download completely within 10 seconds on a 28.8 modem.

Minimal system and software - MAC OS:

  • OS version - X 10.2.8 or later
  • Monitor - 17", graphics card, 16-bit color
  • Modem - 28.8 KBPS - Pages should download completely within 10 seconds on a 28.8 modem.
