Attention teachers, K-12 students, undergraduates, and doctoral candidates interested in clean energy: You may be eligible for a variety of scholarships or temporary assignments that can complement your energy studies.

The Department of Energy and other organizations offer a wide range of paid opportunities for students and teachers interested in clean energy. Check out the programs linked here—many of which include real-world experience in a research, industry, or government environment.

Here you will find:

  • DOE-sponsored programs in areas such as atmospheric sciences, ecology, global carbon cycles, climatology, fuel cells, hybrid drive trains and control systems, lightweight materials, direct-injection engines, advanced energy storage, and more.
  • Non-DOE-sponsored programs at facilities such as the Solar Living Institute and the University of California, Davis.
