Federal Energy Management Advisory Committee
The Federal Energy Management Advisory Committee (FEMAC) was established in October 2000 to provide the Department of Energy with input on a range of issues critical to meeting mandated Federal energy management goals including energy efficiency, acquisition, renewable energy, sustainable buildings, water conservation, and alternative financing. FEMAC is composed of officials from Federal and state governmental agencies; the energy service, utility, and equipment manufacturing industries; building design and construction professions; and other energy organizations. The committee organizes working groups to develop recommendations in the form of reports or resolutions and meets 1-3 times a year in a public forum to develop a consensus on working group recommendations.
