Reporting Guidance

The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program issued guidance to assist agencies in providing information for the FY 2008 Annual Report to Congress on Federal Government Energy Management. The guidance is intended for use by energy coordinators at Federal agency headquarters.

For FY 2008, agencies are required to submit:

  1. FY 2008 Agency Annual Report on Energy Management Programs (narrative information)
  2. Annual Energy Management Data Report workbook, including performance summary sheet, list of new buildings beginning design since the beginning of FY 2007, and list of covered facilities required by Section 432 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.

FY 2008 Energy Management Data Report (Excel 198 KB)
This file includes the formats for reporting energy and water consumption, costs, and facility square footage and includes formulas that will calculate site and source Btu, unit costs for each of the fuels, energy and water use intensity (per square foot), and national average carbon dioxide emissions. Formats and formulas for renewable energy use are also included that present agency progress toward new renewable energy goals established by the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and Executive Order 13423.
