Training
CHP for Federal Facilities Workshop
FEMP is conducting a series of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) workshops. This first workshop will be held in Philadelphia, PA. Local federal facility energy managers in the Philadelphia area would benefit from this April 7, 2006 workshop, which will cover energy and emission reduction requirements for federal facilities, methods to meet current and 2010 requirements, methods to finance projects that reduce energy and meet legislative goals, and an opportunity to work with the local utility. This workshop will focus on combining heat recovery with power generation to reduce BTU/Sq Ft of energy use including improving reliability, national security, and indoor air quality.
Workshops are scheduled to be held throughout the country during the year. See the FEMP Events Calendar. View the brochure (PDF 734 KB, 2 pp) and agenda (PDF 63 KB, 1 p) Download Adobe Reader.
Introduction to Distributed Energy—Web Cast
This workshop is designed to provide participants from the Federal government and related organizations with an introduction to Distributed Energy (DE). The topics include an overview of DE, technology overview, alternative financing, and specific case studies. This Federal Energy Management Program training is offered through a web cast in one afternoon.
An introductory training was held on April 19, 2005. A rebroadcast of this training will occur July 14 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EDT. View this year's agenda (MS Word 88 KB). To register online visit FEMP Training. Please follow the steps in the user guide (MS Word 245 KB) to be prepared for the web cast. The training workshop's presentations are available in Adobe PDF.
Upon completion of the course fill out the evaluation form (MS Word 60 KB) by by Thursday, July 21. Participants who submit an evaluation form by the deadline will receive a signed certificate of completion in the mail. The certificate may be used to apply for Continuing Education Units at your agency.
Information on a previous training, held April 20, 2004, is available.
Distributed Energy Resources Hands-on Training
This DOE FEMP-sponsored workshop is intended to help energy managers, decision-makers, and technicians become familiar with DER technologies. It provides hands-on training with DER equipment at Sandia's Distributed Energy Technologies Laboratory. For more information visit FEMP Training.
Distributed Generation and Combined Heat and Power Workshop
This workshop provides project-focused opportunities for federal facility energy managers interested in applying DER technologies, to meet and work with private industry representatives who support DER projects, and to create linkages among federal facility energy managers and environmental regulators, financiers, architects and engineers, utilities, and energy service companies. Federal facility managers also learn about various DER technologies and their application. Various case studies are also presented.
This course was held on Aug 8, 2004 in Rochester, NY. For information, contact Linda Stansberry, 865-574-0266.
