FEMP Launches New Institutional Change Site

August 2, 2013

The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) recently launched a new section on its website that helps agencies close gaps between potential energy savings and actual performance. Specifically, it shows agencies how to use institutional change to meet their energy- and water-reduction goals. Institutional change integrates technology, policy, and behavior to make new sustainability practices and perspectives become “business as usual” at an agency.

Visit this FEMP Web section to learn about the eight principles for achieving institutional change and the five-step process for establishing it in Federal agencies.

Although this online resource focuses on meeting the requirements of Executive Order 13514, Federal agencies can use the institutional change process to meet any sustainability or energy-efficiency goals.
