Tips for Small Renewable Energy Systems

Once you have designed and sized the renewable energy system that you are planning to purchase, here is a five-step method your agency or facility can use to buy products listed in the supply schedule:

  • Review the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule for renewable energy systems. Here's the schedule for solar systems.
  • Contact at least three appropriate suppliers to discuss your individual needs and requirements. (Contact information for firms listed on the GSA Supply Schedule can be found by typing in the firm's name on the GSA e-Library Web site.)
  • Ask the supplier to send you a catalog, a list of recommended hardware or services, and current prices.
  • Review the lists with your engineers and consultants to select the right product for you.
  • Place your order with the supplier.

GSA solar suppliers are required to accept federal credit cards and purchase orders.
