Federal Energy and Water Management Awards
Each year the U.S. Department of Energy, in conjunction with the Federal Interagency Energy Policy Committee ("656" Committee), sponsors the Federal Energy and Water Management Awards. These awards honor individuals and organizations making significant contributions to the efficient use of energy and water resources in the federal government.
Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the following areas:
- the conservation and efficient use of energy and water;
- the use of renewable energy sources;
- implementing sustainable practices for high performance buildings; and
- implementing sustainable practices for vehicle fleet management.
Call for Nominations
Nominations for 2008 Federal Energy and Water Management Awards are due on May 23, 2008.
For guidance on nominations, please consult the 2008 criteria and guidelines (MS Word 130 KB) and cover sheet (MS Word 43 KB), which must be completed and attached to each nomination. Please note, FEMP requires that all agencies submit nominations through their federal agency energy coordinator. Your agency contact information is also required as part of the nomination cover sheet criteria.
Event Information
The Federal Energy and Water Management Awards luncheon ceremony will be held on October 22, 2008 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. An evening reception with winners of the Presidential, Federal Energy and Water Management Awards, and the DOE Awards will be held on October 21, 2008 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. Attendance to both events is by invitation only.
