2012 Call for Nominations
The 2012 Call for Nominations is now open. Please consult the 2012 Criteria and Guidelines, Nomination Check List, and Frequently Asked Questions for guidance on preparing and submitting nominations.
Please note the following important changes from 2011:
-
Each agency is invited to submit one nomination that represents its top-performing standalone building based on exceptional measured energy reduction in FY 2011 from the prior year and other criteria as noted. For this award, the building must have reduced its energy use by at least 20% from a baseline of your choosing and be entered in EPA's Portfolio Manager. Nominations submitted for this category will also be eligible to win an award in the Project category. You only need to submit the nomination once to be considered for both categories.
-
Energy, water, and/or fuel reduction data (from the prior fiscal year) is now required in the online system for most nominations. FEMP also requests savings from the relevant mandate baseline years and life-cycle savings as available.
-
Descriptions of best practices demonstrated by the project, building, program, or individual must be entered into the online system for all nominations.
Nominations are due by May 2, 2012. The nomination website will be open to accept nominations on or around February 15, 2012. Please visit http://www.fempcentral.com/awards/ after February 15, and click on the "Awards" box in the upper left corner to get started.
Event Information
Winners of the 2012 Federal Awards will be invited to attend a ceremony and reception in Washington, D.C., to be scheduled during Energy Action Month (October). The dates and locations for these events have not yet been determined.
