Presidential Awards for Leadership in Federal Energy Management

The Presidential Awards for Leadership in Federal Energy Management honor federal employees for their support, leadership, and efforts in promoting and improving federal energy management. The awards program is required by Executive Order 13423.

Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the following areas:

  • Conservation and efficient use of energy and water
  • New and emerging energy technologies
  • Innovative strategies, best practices, and applications
  • Renewable energy sources
  • Alternative financing
  • Energy-efficient mobility by the federal government

2009 Call for Nominations

The database is now closed. No further nominations will be accepted. All nominations submitted and approved by your Energy Coordinator are currently being evaluated.

Event Information

The 2009 Presidential Awards ceremony and reception will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, October 29,2009.

Winners are also invited to an evening reception with winners of the Federal Energy and Water Management Awards, on October 27, 2009, at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Attendance at these events is by invitation only.
