Fuel Working Group (The U.S. Coast Guard)

Department of Homeland Security

The U.S. Coast Guard Fuel Working Group consists of operating, financial, procurement, legal, and management personnel from around the country. The Working Group was created to improve organizational fuel procurement processes. By increasing awareness and utilization of Defense Energy Support Center (DESC) standard rate fuel purchase contracts, instituting these contracts in new locations, and improving overall fuel purchase methods, the Working Group led the Coast Guard to $9 million in cost savings in FY 2005.
