Solid state lighting (SSL) technologies for street and roadway applications can provide quality lighting and reliable energy savings in the right environments. The following resources are provided for Federal agencies interested in pursuing street and roadway SSL deployments.

Municipal Solid State Street Lighting Consortium

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Municipal Solid State Street Lighting Consortium shares technical information and experiences surrounding LED street and area lighting demonstrations. It also serves as an objective resource for evaluating new street and area lighting products and applications. Additional information is outlined in the Consortium overview.

CALiPER Test Results

The DOE CALiPER (Commercially Available LED Product Evaluation and Reporting) tool supports testing of a wide array of available SSL products using industry-approved test procedures. DOE allows its test results to be distributed in the public interest for non-commercial, educational purposes only.
