Summary:

The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Office of FreedomCAR and Vehicle Technologies (OFCVT) is seeking applications for cost-shared projects. The department anticipates awarding cooperative agreements under this funding opportunity announcement.

Although large businesses are permitted to apply under this announcement, the primary focus is to receive applications from innovative companies that supply major engine manufacturers or support major oil companies. This announcement is composed of two areas of interest. Only applications that focus on one of these areas of interest will be accepted:

Area of Interest 1: Advanced Start-of-Combustion, NOx or PM Sensor
Area of Interest 2: Fuels, Fuel Additives, and Lubricant Formulations.

Additional Information:

An amendment to this announcement extended the application due date for Area of Interest 2 to May 16, 2006. Area of Interest 1 applications are due March 16, 2006.
